From dental practices:
- Business contact information (name, email, phone, practice address)
- Transaction data accessed via Plaid (merchant name, date, and amount only)
What SafeSource does NOT collect:
- Account numbers or routing numbers
- Bank balances
- Login credentials
- Line-item purchase details
- Patient information
- Ability to initiate payments
From patients:
- Directory search queries
- Standard analytics (browser type, pages visited, general location)
- Contact form submissions
2. How We Use Information
- Assess and maintain verification status for enrolled dental practices
- Maintain the SafeSource public directory
- Send verification-related notifications
- Improve the platform and user experience
- Respond to inquiries and support requests
SafeSource does not use collected information for advertising or behavioral profiling.
3. Data Retention
- Raw transaction data is deleted on a 90-day rolling basis
- Verification records are retained during active membership
- Practices may request deletion of their data at any time
4. Data Security
- AES-256 encryption at rest
- TLS encryption in transit
- Role-based access controls
- Plaid connection is read-only and revocable at any time
SafeSource does not sell or share data with third parties for any commercial purpose.
5. Third-Party Services
SafeSource uses Plaid Technologies, Inc. to establish read-only connections to practice business accounts. Plaid's use of your data is subject to Plaid's own privacy policy.
6. Patient Information
SafeSource never accesses patient records, treatment histories, or protected health information. Our verification process is limited to supply sourcing documentation and does not involve clinical or patient data of any kind.
7. Your Rights
You may:
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your data
- Revoke Plaid access at any time through your account settings

Terms of Service
1. About the Service
SafeSource provides independent verification focused on whether dental practices source supplies through authorized distributors. SafeSource operates as a positive-signal system: verified practices are listed publicly, while non-participation carries no negative implication. SafeSource does not evaluate clinical care, treatment decisions, or patient outcomes.
2. Scope Limitation and Disclaimer
SafeSource verification is limited to supply sourcing documentation. Verification is not a guarantee of:
- Clinical care quality
- Regulatory compliance
- Product authenticity
- Professional conduct
3. Enrollment and Plaid Connection
Practices that enroll in SafeSource connect their business purchasing account through Plaid, a secure, read-only financial data connection. This connection:
- Is read-only — SafeSource cannot initiate transactions or access credentials
- Is revocable at any time through the practice's account settings or directly through Plaid
4. Verification Status
Practices may hold one of the following statuses:
- Verified Active — the practice currently meets SafeSource sourcing verification standards
- Verification In Progress — the practice has enrolled and verification is underway
- Verification Inactive — verification has been paused, revoked, or the practice has unenrolled
Verification status is determined by sourcing review, not by payment. Fees cover monitoring and administration. They do not influence verification outcomes.
5. Dispute and Appeals Process
- Practices have 30 days from notification to submit a dispute regarding any verification status change
- Disputes should be submitted to disputes@safesourcedental.com
- Disputes will be acknowledged within 5 business days
- A determination will be issued within 30 days of acknowledgment
6. Seal License and Misuse
Upon achieving Verified Active status, practices receive a limited, non-transferable license to display the SafeSource Verified Seal. Practices must:
- Display the seal only as provided by SafeSource
- Link the seal to the SafeSource verification check page when displayed digitally
- Remove the seal promptly if verification status lapses or is revoked
Unauthorized use, modification, or misrepresentation of the seal is prohibited and may result in legal action.
7. Fees and Payment
SafeSource charges a periodic fee for verification services. Fees are not influenced by manufacturers, distributors, or any third party. Fee details are available on the Membership page.
8. Limitation of Liability
SafeSource is provided on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- SafeSource is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the service
- Total liability is capped at the amount of fees paid by the practice in the 12 months preceding the claim
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Travis County, Texas.
10. Changes to These Terms
SafeSource may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be communicated by email to enrolled practices. Continued use of the service after notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
